The title "Deliverance" is tied to the fact that the museum pictured in the center is the former post office, then connects with the church for the spiritual overtone of that same word. The rainbow suggested in the sky is a reminder of the original deliverance of Noah's family from the flood.

This view was not available to the artist in any old photos and was created from a large collection of current views, antique vehicles, an old aerial view postcard from the Holiday Inn and a small close-up of Jerry's, and some close-up pics of the drive-in. After choosing what to feature on the drive-in screen & marquee, the artist was notified that it had indeed shown there, as some friends called to say they had their first date there.
